I want to build an animal shed

I am interested in keeping small ruminants, like goats and sheep, but I need advice on how to construct a standard shed for them.

Small ruminants need a reasonable shelter to protect them from rain and other elements. Goats in particular are drastically affected by rain.

The shelter can be made from cheap locally-available materials such as timber off-cuts, papyrus, bamboo, mud and wattle. You can then use grass for thatching.

While the shelter for sheep can be constructed at ground level, one for goats should be off the ground, preferably standing on pillars or slats.

The structure should be properly ventilated since poor ventilation leads to disease outbreak.

A simple structure without walls would be perfect for goats.
Alternatively, a half wall made of wood and roofed with either iron sheets or papyrus would also serve the same purpose.

The structure should have enough space for a feeding trough that can comfortably accommodate between 40 and 50 goats.
