DAZZLING bridal fashions, picturesque models strutting to cutting-edge music, scintillating marriage workshops, wedding service providers of all kinds. Yes, the Bride and Groom Wedding Expo is here.

Starting on Friday the 10th through to Sunday the 12th, the second annual Bride and Groom Expo will take place at the Hotel Africana Nile Hall.

With over 80 service providers under one roof, a wedding has never been easier to plan.

This is a great opportunity for couples to come enjoy the wedding wonderland that the expo will be. The expo is open to the public at an entrance fee of sh5000.

The fashion shows are by far the most popular and exciting element of the expo. There will seven themed fashion shows starting with the Thursday Gala Night, which is an invite-only event that will feature the best of Uganda’s haute couture bridal creations. The next three days will feature two fashion shows daily, one at 1:00pm and another at 6:00pm.

Santa Anzo of Arapapa Fashion House is the mind behind the shows. “We are concentrating on “the difference; that very special something that gives each bride & her entourage the uniqueness that every bride looks for,” she says.

Gala Night will feature mostly haute couture or high fashion pieces only. Each designer will create a signature costume to tantalise our brides and grooms-to-be.

The other shows will feature an alluring display of lingerie for both ladies & gents, traditional romantic & the Tuxedo, exotic and ethnic-inspired attire, punch-of-colour, which is a cutting-edge contemporary show.

Plus, our kid models will showcase a ribbons-and-bows theme for the Junior Bridal Party.

Some of Uganda’s best will be showcasing; namely Santa Anzo’s Arapapa, Paula Butagira, Stella Atal, Brenda Maraka, Jemma, Select Garments, Sister’s Bridal, David’s Bridal and many more.

“We are working with 15 fashion outlets that provide wedding attire; 12 of which are fashion designers that actually conceptualise, cut and tailor wedding gowns, suits and all manner of attire necessary for a successful wedding.

A total of 20 models will take part. Arapapa’s preferred plus size models will showcase, as well as the internationally acceptable size-8 models.

“The wedding is fashion and fashion is the wedding. These two can’t be separated. On this cherished day of every bride’s life, fashion, fashion, and more fashion is all that she, her groom and all those around them expect,” Anzo says.
