Water and environment minister Maria Mutagamba has urged the NRM party national chairman, President Yoweri Museveni, to reconcile warring members in the party. The ongoing NRM primary elections left many losers crying foul.

Mutagamba, who is also the NRM chairperson for Rakai district and a flag-bearer for the district Woman seat, said the party chairman had the responsibility of bringing both the losers and winners to one table before the 2011 elections.

“Our meeting at Namboole (NRM special delegates meeting) should start the healing process so that we go back to the original one family,” said Mutagamba, who was on Sunday addresssing NRM district leaders at her home in Budo on Masaka Road.

She added that the reconciliation would prevent aggrieved members from standing as independents in the 2011 polls. Kakuuto MP Mathias Kasamba said though the party primaries faced challenges, they were able to test the adult suffrage system and learn lessons as they prepare for the general elections.
