Stop dynamite fishing

There are usually three or four explosions every morning. Dynamite fishing has increased since the blasting on the new Bujagali dam started?

The local councillors do not seem to care. I have also contacted the Police 16 times and sometimes, I have been asked for "facilitation fee". Other times, the Police have told me to contact NEMA, saying it was an environmental problem.

I have sent several e-mails to NEMA and called their office more than 10 times, but they tell me it is a police matter. The fisheries sector seems interested, but it has done nothing to stop the vice. They are more worried about illegal fishing nets. I want to inform them that dynamite will have a much more devastating effect on fish stocks than the illegal nets will!

Not only is dynamite a devastating type of environmental terrorism. It kills every animal in the water and kills all the immature fish. The Police need to find the source of the explosives and arrest all those involved.
