The outgoing Bishop of Mukono diocese, the Rt. Rev. Paul Luzinda, has challenged religious leaders and the Government to groom a new generation of leaders for Uganda.

“Groom people who will display patriotism or else the nation is in trouble. This is the reason there is a huge mess in the country these days, including human sacrifice and vote rigging,” Luzinda said.

The bishop sounded the warning while at Royal College Namugongo on Sunday where he confirmed over 200 students in the Anglican faith and commissioned a block.

Luzinda cautioned against teaching that promotes indoctrination, saying it would breed fanatics in the country. He applauded Salama Mugabe, the head teacher of the school, for promoting development in Buganda.

Mugabe urged parents to work with the teachers to make responsible citizens.
