ASINANSI Nyakato, 24, a graduate of social work and social administration, has been elected un-opposed as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Woman MP flag-bearer in Hoima.

Joseph Muganyizi, the party district electoral commission chairperson, announced Nyakato un-opposed on Sunday at the party district offices.

Fifty-four 54 candidates also went through unopposed. Among them was the Hoima town council LC3 chief, Francis Atugonza, who will be the party’s flag-bearer for the Hoima Municipality mayoral seat. Atugonza will tussle it out with NRM’s Mary Mugasa.

Patrick Jolly Baguma was also unopposed for the Hoima MP seat. He will face the second deputy Prime Minister, Henry Muganwa Kajura, who is NRM’s flag-bearer for the seat in next year’s general elections. Dan Tumwesige will stand on the FDC ticket for the LC5 chairmanship.

Jackson Wabyona Rugambwa was elected flag-bearer for the Bugahya constituency parliamentary seat. It is not clear who the NRM candidate is, since the party is yet to declare its candidate.
