The envoys, who presented their credentials on Thursday at State House, Entebbe, are from North Korea, Norway, Germany, France and Sri Lanka.
According to a State House statement, President Museveni welcomed the North Korean ambassador, Jong Thae Yang, and commended the North Korean government for their contribution to the economic development of Uganda.
Yang conveyed warm greetings to Museveni from the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il.
Receiving the letters of credence of the new Norwegian ambassador, Thorbjorn Gaustadsaether, Museveni urged the envoy to continue strengthening further the good relations between Uganda and Norway.
Later, Klaus Dieter Duxmann of Germany presented his credentials to the President, who thanked Germany for supporting Uganda during the registration exercise in preparation for next year’s elections.
Receiving the new French ambassador, Aline Kuster Menager, Museveni welcomed her and lauded France for supporting Uganda’s water and energy sectors. He urged the envoy to encourage more French entrepreneurs to do business in Uganda, especially in the agro-processing sector.
Museveni told the new Sri Lankan High Commissioner, Mr. Jayantha Punchi Bandara Dissanayake, to work with the Government of Uganda so that Ugandans acquire improved vocational training skills and get more knowledge in tea growing and processing.
