Rwanda president Paul Kagame’s son, Ivan Cyomoro, has graduated from the prestigious West Point Military Academy, US, after a rigorous 47 month training.
Kagame insists Cyomoro chose a military career himself. During his visit to the military academy early this year, Kagame said he did not take Ivan to any other military institution because “only West Point produces accomplished leaders who are capable of facing both contemporary and future challenges for their country.â€
Cyomoro is not the first in East Africa to study at a prestigious military school. President Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba studied at Sandhurst Military Academy in the UK.
