THE Kampala affluent have formed a group to support President Yoweri Museveni’s candidature in next year’s general elections.

The group will organise a festival on Saturday at the Lugogo Cricket Ground, as a way of showing their support for the President before the October 25 nomination, said city lawyer Kiwanuka Kiryowa, the spokesperson of the group.

Addressing journalists at the Oasis Restaurant in Lugogo, Kiwanuka, flanked by Vision Group chief Robert Kabushenga, said for 25 years, the country has enjoyed stable security and a fast-growing economy. “We have come up with this event as a way of thanking the President. Over 10,000 people have so far come up to show that they are behind our cause. A lot of artists are expected to perform.” Kabushenga, the co-spokesperson, said the group includes many professionals who have injected resources in the event.
