Traffic Police should be more vigilant

EDITOR: The traffic Police in Uganda should be more vigilant than they are now. It seems all their concern is concentrated on vehicles but very often boda-boda cyclists will commit the most outrageous offences under the very nose of an officer and get away with it!

EDITOR: The traffic Police in Uganda should be more vigilant than they are now. It seems all their concern is concentrated on vehicles but very often boda-boda cyclists will commit the most outrageous offences under the very nose of an officer and get away with it!

For example, this is very common at the junction opposite City High School on Lugogo Bypass. At the very same spot there is another problem which is not directly related to traffic officers but which is definitely a traffic problem. The Regency Suite Apartments on Lugogo Bypass have their parking lot in front of the flats along the road.

When someone is driving into the bypass from Naguru side, one's view is blocked by the vehicles parked in front of Regency Apartments and one cannot see the oncoming vehicles. This is poor urban planning but the traffic Police could intervene and outlaw this parking lot because one day it will certainly cause a nasty accident.
