PRESIDENT Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to sink the first basket to inaugurate the official opening of the refurbished Lugogo Indoor stadium at 10am today. He will also unveil a plaque at the newly rehabilitated sports complex.

The stadium has been renovated and turned into an all-seater facility with a modern sports carpert with the drainage and wiring redone.

“We are still finalising the entire relaunch programme. We are looking at having about two sports men from each discipline when the president enters the arena.

This is aimed at him seeing what sports will be taking place,” said N.C.S boss Jasper Aligawesa yesterday.

He said that the closed function will see the education and sports ministry and officials from Telecommunication Company MTN, who renovated the stadium make brief speeches to a gathering of select sportsmen.

The refurbished hall now has an ultra-modern playing surface to stage badminton, basketball, boxing, volleyball, netball, table tennis and indoor football.
