What good did the regents do for Toro Kingdom?

EDITOR: We have all read about the ongoing wrangles between some selfish Toro elders and Omukama Oyo. The majority of those fighting our king are the same people who almost saw our kingdom collapse when Oyo was a minor.

I am behind Omukama Oyo. Since he took over his royal duties, many Batooro have started benefitting. For example, he has put in place scholarships and bursaries. His love for the disabled is obvious.

Omukama Oyo is not selfish like some of the Toro elders whose only intention is to manipulate him and use him to feed their own interests. I plead with all the good Batooro not to forget where we have come from when our king was still a minor.

We should rally behind him because his love and commitment is in the interest of all the Batooro. Toro lost a lot when Oyo was a minor and now that he has come of age; those same elders are trying to compromise him.

We will not allow that to happen. My question to those attacking him for not appointing regents before he left for his studies, is what good did the previous regents do for Toro, apart from dividing our kingdom?

Leave him alone. He is a blessing for our kingdom. Long Live Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
