FIVE candidates have been nominated for the Gulu municipality mayoral seat. Alex Otim (independent), the secretary of works and technical services, was nominated on Thursday.

FIVE candidates have been nominated for the Gulu municipality mayoral seat. Alex Otim (independent), the secretary of works and technical services, was nominated on Thursday.

He promised to work on water, electricity and roads, and to build houses for local government staff.
Walter Odong-Wee-Yoo (UPC) said he would unite Gulu municipality staff, local councils, civil servants and politicians.

Robert Adongakulu (DP) released a 13-point programme that will focus on HIV/AIDS, education, creation of employment opportunities, unity, information and communications technology, support of businesses, strategic planning and integrity and transparency.

George Labeja (NRM) promises to clean up the town and maintain security.

Patrick Oola-Lumumba (FDC) said he would promote development, uplift education and ensure optimal cleanliness in the town.
