NOVEMBER 3 started like any other day for Sadic Musinguzi and his friend Donati Tugume, both casual labourers at Kanungu Taxi Park.

By midday, they had accumulated enough money to have lunch and a drink at one of the hotels in the taxi park.

After drinking, Tugume is reported to have asked Asaph Arinatwe, another friend who had joined them, to settle the bill. However, Arinaitwe refused, insisting that they share it.

Arinaitwe then boxed Tugume and in the ensuing fight, Tugume, armed with a kitchen knife, stabbed to death Musinguzi who had tried to calm the situation.

Witnesses who rushed to the scene beat Tugume into unconsciousness before the Police arrived and shot in the air to disperse the enraged crowd.

Tugume also died as he was rushed to Kambuga Hospital.
Rauben Kalanzi, the acting officer in charge of Kanungu criminal investigations department, condemned mob justice.

Elsewhere in Nyanga village in Kihiihi town council, Onesmus Akankwasa is also reported to have stabbed his neighbour, Fred Mugarura, during a scuffle at a local bar on October 31.

Mugarura was rushed to Kihihi Health Centre IV but he died four days later. Akankwasa has since fled the village.
