NEW Vision weekend papers have been redesigned to match the information needs and lifestyles of readers. The new, packed and easy to read Saturday Vision and Sunday Vision roll out this weekend, complete with educative, informative and entertaining
stories and analyses.

David Billington, an international newspaper designer, who redesigned New Vision in August, said the redesign considers that Sunday is unique in that readers have more time to appreciate the improved content in the newspapers.

Chief executive officer Robert Kabushenga said the redesign is intended to match the shift in the lifestyles of the weekend newspaper readers.

“Many people today have access to television and the Internet for news, especially over the weekends. Our redesign is intended to suit this pattern,” Kabushenga said.

Editor-in-Chief Barbara Kaija said the redesign caters for the variety and individuality of the weekend newspaper readers.

“We have put in a lot in terms of content which gives our readers a good, solid package for the weekend. We are dedicating the redesign to our readers,” Kaija said.

Saturday Vision editor Charles Wendo added that the redesigned papers will be stylish and crisp yet more informative than ever before.

Besides the must-read Intimate, Swag, Homes and Election watch sections, the paper has expanded the sports section.
The Saturday Soccer pullout is renamed Goooal! and will have an enriched variety of both local and international sports, not just soccer.

Sunday Vision editor David Mukholi, on his part, explained that the new Sunday Vision will have three new pullouts. Perspective will cover politics; Real Life focuses on people’s experiences, while The Guide is a monthly supplement for upcoming entertainment events.

The popular Sunday Magazine has been renamed Discovery and it will unearth unique culture, people and places, he noted.
