UGANDA women team bagged silver medals as Rwanda swept victory in the Sitball World Cup finals at Lugogo yesterday.
The Uganda side fell 31-8 to Rwanda women in the final.
The Kigali side, captained by MVP Claudine Bazubagira, outclassed Uganda by switching the ball with swift attacks.
It was a repeat for the Rwandans who had earlier beaten Uganda 26-14 in the preliminaries.
Rwanda further confirmed their prowess by edging out defending champions Germany 21-20 in a sensational men’s final.
“It is a very special victory for us because we have been fighting for it for a long time. It was not easy but I am happy we finally won,†remarked Rwanda team captain Dominic Bizimana after the triumph.
