In my village and the neigbouring ones like Kawaala, Lugoba, and most parts of Kawempe and Nabweru, we often spend days without power. We have now spent two weeks experiencing power cuts from morning to evening.

In Kazo, we have a transformer serving almost the whole village. It breaks down every now and then and when it is taken for repair, for about two weeks, it is brought back only to work for three weeks and 'dies' again! I don't know why Umeme cannot install a new transformer to supply other areas. I have complained about this but there is no change.

For heaven's sake we have businesses to run and we need power for domestic work.

During the UEB days, they used to inform us when there would power cuts but these days we hardly ever hear any announcements on either radio or TV informing residents of blackouts.

We only see and hear announcements of Umeme telling people to pay their bills in time yet we receive pathetic services form the company.
