Former Buganda education minister eyes Bamunanika

FORMER education minister in the Buganda government, John Chrizestom Muyingo, was yesterday nominated to contest for the Bamunanika parliamentary seat in Luweero, amid chanting from hundreds of supporters.

FORMER education minister in the Buganda government, John Chrizestom Muyingo, was yesterday nominated to contest for the Bamunanika parliamentary seat in Luweero, amid chanting from hundreds of supporters.

Muyingo, contesting as an independent candidate, was nominated at the Luweero district headquarters at 9:30am. He is using a radio as his campaign symbol.

He will tussle it out with incumbent Ali Ndawula, who is the NRM flag bearer.

After nomination, Muyingo’s convoy of several cars, drove across Bamunanika county, before launching his manifesto at Bamunanika sub-county headquarters.

Muyingo, who is the headmaster of Uganda Martrys Namugongo SSS in Wakiso and proprietor of Seeta High School, said in a brief press interview that he wanted to develop Bamunanika County, which he said was lagging behind in all social aspects.

He said he has no political rival and was ready to work with anyone advancing development of Bulemezi and Uganda.

The three other independent candidates, Kizza Senninde, the former LC3 chairman for Nangabo sub-county in Wakiso, Semakula Serubidde and another person, one Dr. Ssali, are scheduled to be nominated today.
