KABALE district headquarters at Makanga hill was yesterday painted yellow as over 10 parliamentary aspirants got nominated.

The candidates, who were mostly NRM flag-bearers, were ministers Hope Mwesigye (Kabale Woman MP) and Serapio Rukundo (Kabale Municipality). Henry Banyenzaki (Rubanda West) and Henry Musasizi (Rubanda East) were also cleared.

Others were Wilfred Nuwagaba (Ndorwa East), David Bahati (Ndorwa West) and Adison Kakuru (Rukiga).

Kakuru, who faces stiff competition from FDC’s Jack Sabiiti, said he will defeat the opposition. Sabiiti was due to be nominated in the afternoon.

Mwesigye will be wrestling it out with three women, including Ronah Rita, a journalist. Rukundo faces Andrew Baryanyanga, an independent candidate.
