UGANDA will launch their bid at the Africa Nations Championship finals with a game against the 2010 World Cup finalists and 1990 African champions Algeria on day two of the competition in Sudan on February 5.
The finals kick off with hosts Sudan taking on Gabon on February 4.
Uganda will face Algeria as the Desert Foxes return to Khartoum Stadium – the venue of their clash with reigning Africa champions Egypt in last year fight to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
Uganda, who qualified for their first major competition in over three decades, will face Sudan in the same venue in their second match two days later.
They will then wind up the group stage fixture against the Panthers of Gabon in Hilal stadium on February 12.
Cranes coach Robert Williamson said he would not comment on the fixtures now because he is concentrating on the CECAFA championship in Dar es Salaam.
But his Algerian counterpart Abdenour Kauoa told CAF that his team can emerge unscathed in the group.
“All the teams can have a level ground because all the players are featuring in their domestic leagues,†Kauoa added.
