A boda boda rider in Masaka town was cut with a panga after allegedly found sleeping with another man’s wife.

Sulaiman Makalaayi, a night watchman, said he returned unexpectedly to his home in Kitabaazi zone at 7:30pm and found the boda boda man, Jjuuko Kayemba, with his wife, Aisha Nakayiza, in the bedroom on Tuesday.

Makalaayi said when he opened the bedroom door, a man jumped out of bed and grabbed him by the neck.

“I defended myself by grabbing his private parts. He bit my finger and I pushed him to the ground,” Makalaayi explained.

“When he fell down, I saw a panga and I cut him. I made an alarm that attracted neighbours,” Makalaayi said.

Neighbours dragged Kayemba to the LC1 chairman. However, on the way, he phoned other bodaboda cyclists, who swarmed the place, rescued him and took him to Masaka Hospital. He had a cut on the head and one finger was severed.

Makalaayi reported to Masaka Police station, where he was detained for causing grievous bodily harm.

Nakayiza, however, denied sleeping with Kayemba. She said by the time her husband came, she was standing in a nearby bush with Kayemba, but did not say what they were doing.
