THE Government has lauded investors from India for supporting Uganda’s development through job creation.

“We take note with much appreciation that the Indian community is present in many key areas of investment in Uganda, their businesses have not only created jobs for many local people but have also contributed to our tax revenue,” said Raymond Agaba, the commissioner for internal trade.

Agaba was at Fairway Hotel in Kampala recently, where he unveiled food stuffs produced by Kuber, an Indian firm that deals in confections and mouth fresheners imported and distributed by Aanchal International.

“The Government will continue offering adequate security so that people’s investments don’t suffer insecurity-related losses,” said the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, in a speech read by his personal assistant, Maj. Emmanuel Muhwezi.

Aanchal plans to establish modern grain mills next year.
