Kalema loses to Kenyan in Homecoming fight

A Kenyan boxer Kevin Onyango, 17, beat Yasin Kalema ‘Tyson’ on points in a thrilling fight that forced fans at Masaka Recreation Ground to support the Kenyan due to his good fighting style.

A Kenyan boxer Kevin Onyango, 17, beat Yasin Kalema ‘Tyson’ on points in a thrilling fight that forced fans at Masaka Recreation Ground to support the Kenyan due to his good fighting style.

In the six other under-cards in the Jjuuko v Venance Mponji of Tanzania ‘Homecoming Fight’, Steven Vvule who pounded and knocked out Mike Onene in the fourth round.

Jjuuko also won on a knockout after his opponent lost vision. Peter Nsubuga, a teacher at Masaka SSS making his first attempt in professional boxing ranks, lost on points to Meddie Sserunjogi in the super welter fight.

Moses Kyandika alias Master Budda also knocked out Ocho Ddungu in the second round after the referee stopped the fight.

Juda Dodo Obongo twice brought down Kenyan James Kitasi injuring him badly, which forced the referee to stop the contest.

Kitasi was treated but the doctor advised him to stop fighting after he let out a lot of blood.

Billy Beast Kizito entertained fans when he punished Omona Kazimir until he knocked him out in the second round.

The Masaka Local Council V chairman, Vincent Ssempijja pledged to promote boxing in addition to football. He also promised to assist Justin Jjuuko.
