NOMINATIONS for the Mukono district chairperson seat started yesterday at Mukono Community Centre Hall.
By 2.00pm, only Godfrey Ddamulira Kyeyune had been declared a candidate by the district returning officer, Eddy Mwanje.
Ddamulira, who had a long entourage of supporters, was accompanied by the district former chairperson, Joseph Banga Kanakulya, and ex-district speaker, Al-haji Edirisa Njuki.
The community centre hall was jammed with supporters of Ddamulira who danced and waved placards to onlookers.
Others vying for the seat are Francis Lukooya and Serubogo Fefeka.
Lukooya is contesting for the second time.
Ddamulira has already promised his supporters a win. “Do not be threatened give me support, we shall win this seat,” he told his enthusiastic supporters
The district returning officer said that so far three people had picked the nomination papers by had not returned them.
