14 LDUs, one soldier killed

KAMPALA — Fourteen LDUs and a UPDF soldier were on Monday killed in an ambush by suspected Kenya Pokot warriors. The incident occurred in Kariita sub-county near the Uganda-Kenya border where the LDUs and UPDF soldiers were pursuing a group of the Pokot warriors who had raided over 800 head of cattle from Namalu sub-county. The UPDF 3rd division commander, Col. Sula Ssemakula, said yesterday that the sketchy information he had received showed that 14 LDUs and a soldier were killed in the ambush.
