BEN Musisi justified Chills & Meals status as the top darts club so far after thrashing Kob’s Saul Mukasa in the New Year Open championship on Sunday.
Musisi made his opponent pay for not taking his early chance.
Mukasa had taken the first set with ease as both players struggled to settle. But Mukasa’s darts went straying as he struggled to make the intended 20 notch.
Musaka later responded with some fine darts but Musisi refused to yield to his momentum as the tough got going.
The national champion took control of the game for a 4-0 triumph, as his opponent’s blistering form seemed to have faltered greatly.
Earlier on, Mukasa caused shock waves when he hammered URA’s John Opio 3-1 in the semi-final.
The ladies singles event went to Olive Begomba of URA who beat Rose Malinga of Posta with a better leg average.
Both players garnered 16 points, six better than Kob’s Ruth Nalulu in the round robin event that drew 12 participants.
The doubles event also went to Chills and Meals, the national league champions.
The victory in the Uganda Darts Association (UDA) ranking championship put Musisi in pole position with eight points ahead of Mukasa who has collected six and Opio with four.
