Being one who always anticipates death, sickness, financial bankruptcy and other misfortunes, Angela Nakimuli of Kazo, Bwaise, surprised friends when she sent them 2003 Christmas cards and 2004 new year wishes in January, 2003.

On January 12 she bought 10 Christmas cards and 15 new year cards and sent them to her friends, wishing them a merry Christmas of 2003 and a prosperous new year in 2004.

Some of them were shocked to receive such premature wishes: “Has this lady predicted her death or what?” a friend asked other comrades who received similar wishes at Bwaise. But Nakimuli defended her act, saying that these two things can be wished to any one at any time.

“Ya, 2004 and 2003 Christmas are still far from now, but is it wrong if I wish my fellows the best now if in case they exist up to then? And still, what if I die, wouldn’t they miss my wishes?” she asked when questioned by a friend.

She added: “I’m even going to do the same next year and send such messages for five consecutive years in advance.”

She later called one of the popular city FM stations and sent similar greetings and wishes to many more friends.
