Over 2,000 displaced residents in Kitgum district have flooded Kitgum Hospital and Kitgum Public School following rebel raids on Kitgum suburbs.
The district council chairman, Nahman Ojwee said the LRA rebels were looting household items, food stuffs and abducting children. But Ojwee said the security situation in the district was improving.
Meanwhile, one person was shot dead and nine others were injured by an unknown gunman in Pader district.
Oryang Parish chief Geoffrey Oyat said the incident took place at Pajule trading centre near the district Police headquarters.
He said a similar incident happened when a Uganda People’s Defence Forces soldier shot dead a Pader town council resident, Ben Otto, and wounded eight others last Friday.
