The Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Monday rewarded long serving employees with five, 10 and 15 year certificates.
Six workers who have been with the hotel for five years each received a bicycle. Wicky Subramaniam, the general manager presided over the function.
Seventeen staff with 10 years service received 40 roofing sheets each and 22 more with 15 years, received new fridges.
“Most of us spend a greater part of our days in the workplace and each of us deserves to be rewarded. Thanks for your dedicated and sincere service to this organisation. Today you are the stars,†Subramaniam said.
The chief executive officer in a speech delivered for him by Dirk Ten Brink said that this is the first time they are rewarding employees for fifteen years of service.
“You are the backbone of this hotel. You are the ones who guarantee continuity and high value services known in this hotel,†he said.
The chief executive officer also sent a personal letter to each of the employees who were rewarded.
Since its inception in 1987, Sheraton Kampala has implemented best practices in terms of its human resource function. The hotel has awards like employee of the month, the year, five, ten and fifteen years. Ends
