Uganda Rugby Football Union (URFU) has postponed the annual awards night that was scheduled to take place today at Sheraton Hotel. The annual event that sees various teams and players receive their honours has been re-scheduled for February 8 at the same venue. “We have to accomplish a few issues before the awards,” said official Herbert Wafula.

KENYA Open championships, the European Challenge tour event, scheduled for February has been called off to September owing to lack of sponsorship, organisers announced. It is the first time in recent years the event, which started in 1967, has had to be postponed. Chairman Kuria Kamau blamed the Kenyan economic downturn as one reason.

Clive Kyangungu departs today for the International Cricket Council (ICC) spinners academy set to start this Sunday in Harare, Zimbabwe. Kyangungu (18) will join other spinners on the continent in the academy conducted by Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) and ICC.
