Nakapiripirit RDC Peter Ken Lochap has called for investigations against Upe (Pokot) county MP Micah Lolem over the LDU/Pokot clash.
Lochap said Lolem was implicated in the clash in which Kenyan Pokot killed 17 LDUs and two UPDF soldiers in Kariita sub-county last month.
Lochap said a vehicle provided by State House for the disarmament programme was allegedly used to transport the warriors who killed government troops.
State minister for karamoja affairs Peter Lokeris said the vehicle was in Lolem’s custody.
A total of 17 Karimojong LDUs and two UPDF soldiers were killed when they landed in an ambush laid by a combined force of Pokot LDUs from Kariita and Kenyan Pokots.
The victims were pursuing over 400 head of cattle raided by the Pokot from Omorimor parish near Namalu trading center.
Lochap who is the chairman of the district security committee said Lolem used the vehicle to ferry Kenyan Pokot warriors to reinforce the Uganda Pokot at Karita. Ends
