KENYA Airways, the Pride of Africa, has unveiled a new special offer to make its passengers who are unfamiliar with South Africa, feel very much at home.
Kenya Airways (KQ), together with several South African travel agents, recently launched this package.
“Our passengers will receive formal procedures right from checking-in and boarding. We emphasise safety at both checking-in and onboard. The aim of this initiative is to increase our flights to South Africa by offering supplementary services to our clients. South Africa is a very competitive market. That is why all airlines take that route,” Emanuel Okware, the country sales manager told The New Vision.
To begin with, the airline selected a number of local travel agents and flew them off to South Africa. The familiarisation tour included visits to the hotels, business centres and other favoured attractions in Johannesburg. The city is South Africa’s business capital.
KQ also identified South African travel agents from different cities and towns, who will help their passengers enjoy the added value services offered by the airline. The airline has also identified suitable, well-positioned hotels where KQ regular passengers are hosted at discounted rates.
KQ travellers to South Africa are expected to be pampered all the way and back. Ms. Chinje, one of the air hostesses said: “The more competition, the merrier and the better services offered.”
The hotels are situated in areas that are most frequented by local travellers. Such as Sandton, Randburg, Waterfront, Sun City, and the Golden Reef city.
“Remember, Kenya Airways is the only airline that has stood the test of time, since the collapse of the East African Airways. KQ has managed to sustain itself as a growing business,” Okware said.
