By Eddie Ssejjoba Private primary schools in Masaka came top of the list of best schools in the district after getting at least nine pupils all coming out with four aggregates each. They included the traditional good performers, Bright Grammar and KY Day and Boarding of Nyendo town in Masaka Municipality and Bishop Ddungu in Kisekka Sub County. Teachers at KY , having their second PLE results, and the first using their own centre number, caused commotion at the school when they celebrated by banging doors and jumping all over about the news. They had two out of the top nine, including Robert Odongo and Frank Ssekisonge. The director, Hajji Yusuf Kiberu was overjoyed, and at first doubted the outcome until he finally read the names in the news papers the nest day. Odongo’s father, Charles Ouma, a teacher in the same school said e taught SST to his son, but he had been the best since he began schooling. “ He is well disciplined and hard working,†the father said. Steven Tumukiza, of Bright Grammar and an orphan who lost his father in January last year was joined by his mother, Miria Nkaaka to celebrate his victory. Tumukiza said he would have done better had his father lived, because he would give him advice and courage. “I expected to do well because the papers were not all that difficult,†he said. Trace Akankunda of the same school also celebrated with his elder sister, Grace Asiimwe of St. Joseph Girls SS Nsambya. “ We had very good teachers and I prayed hard, and my best subject was Mathematics,†he said.
