DAN Kidega proved he is one of Parliament’s most multi-talented when he won a tae-kwon-do championship title in Ntinda on Saturday.
The Northern region youth member of parliament won the welterweight title after being held in the final by musician Bobbi Wine.
Kidega had however already secured the title in the ‘Best of the Best’ contest at KK Health Club by demolishing Mike Ogola in the semifinals. Ogola is the personal assistant to state minister of health Captain Mike Mukula.
Flyweight Wine beat Andrew Mukasa in the semi-finals to book his place in the final and secure the title.
The short dreadlocked musician battled to a stalemate with Kidega in the final.
The one-day event attracted 62 participants from Loketo, Luzira and Kampala tae-kwon-do clubs. Kampala club won the tournament.
Kidega, the chief guest donated sh0.2m for the national team that is preparing for a match against Kenya.
Meanwhile, musicians Jose Chameleon and Babe Kool are set for a showdown next week.
