JINJA — Celebrations to mark the 9th coronation anniversary of the Kyabazinga Wako Muloki on February 11, is to take take sh3m. The organising committee chairman, Baite Munobwa, said the celebrations would be at the Lukiiko headquarters in Bugembe. Munobwa said due to insufficient funds only 1000 guests had been invited to the ceremony.

Iganga LC5 boss bitter
IGANGA — The district council chairman, Asuman Kyafu, has blasted Busoga kingdom prime minister Dan Batuwa over his support for a federal system of government. Kyafu said at a press conference that there was looming confusion over Busoga as it strives to choose between decentralisation and federal ideologies. Batuwa on Saturday said Busoga would recommend a federal system of governance to the Constitutional Review Commission.

Kumi gets new NGO
KUMI — A new non-governmental organisation, Aid for Children and Aged Foundation on Community self-reliance, has opened its head offices on Ngora Road. The director, the Rev. James Mwesigwa, said they would assist women and caretakers of children, especially the aged. He said they promote income generation among poor families through small-scale enterprises. Ends
