Jonathan Angura reports that the group, through their Pallisa-Butebo Counties’ Forum, said it was necessary to form another district because the leaders marginalise the two counties whenever giving jobs, appointments and developmental services.
In a January 14 letter to local government minister Bidandi Ssali, the forum chairman, Albert Ogwari, said there was bias in appointments to top positions in the district with Kibuku and Budaka taking 16 while Pallisa and Butebo given six.
They want Pallisa and Butebo counties to form Pallisa district while Budaka and Kibuku counties constitute Budaka-Bugwere district.
