THE Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) will get a new executive at their annual general assembly today following a decision by the outgoing bosses not to contest again.
Francis Kazinduki and his entire executive have opted not to contest at the Lugogo polls raising the prospects of a new blend of amateurs to take on UCA’s leadership.
Kazinduki (chairman), Justine Ligyalingi (secretary), Sam Ssewagude (vice chairman), and John Lubia (organising secretary) have all thrown in the towels.
“I have played my role, set standards, but I can not continue because of more responsibility at my office,” said the MTN technical manager.
Kazinduki, 45, became UCA boss in July 2000 at the time cricket icon Sam Walusimbi and veteran William Kibuka Musoke had flopped .
Kazinduki turned UCA into one of the best local sports associations during his two and half years stay.
“Teamwork, accountability and transparency have been our guidelines. I believe we have achieved,” he said.
Former secretary Chris Azuba and national team manager Robert Kisubi are tipped for top posts.
