Soroti hailed on schools
SOROTI – A Ministry of Education and Sports engineer has hailed district leaders for excellent schools construction for the financial year 2001/2002. Betty Nabbosa said there were results to show for the district expenditure of about sh808m on school development. She, however, called for more speed in the work.

CAO advises on services
SOROTI — The chief administrative officer, George William Omuge, has said appointment of members on statutory bodies be handled by the public service commission. Omuge said this recently while meeting officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports at Soroti Lukiiko Hall.

Police nets 16 over fuel
JINJA – The Police on Friday arrested 16 people suspected to be part of the racket that siphons fuel from Kakira Sugar Works tractors and trucks. The acting district Police commander, Skakatephen Ojala, said 18 jerry cans full of diesel were recovered.
