JUST over 20 dairy farmers in Kabale district, have quit the enterprise.

Sam Ndaaba, the secretary, Kigezi Dairy Cooperative Society, said the farmers are earning a paltry sh170 per litre.

He told The New Vision at Kamuganguzi milk collecting centre, that many farmers were finding it difficult to buy inputs, acaricides and meet other overhead expenses.

Ndaaba said the most affected are those involved in zero grazing with one or two cows acquired on loan. He attributed the low prices to few milk processing facilities that can prolong the milk shelf life.
