UPBC urges
UGANDA Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) has urged local pugilists to shape up if they hope to win any world titles. The local boxing body’s president Celestino Mindra urged boxers to shape before embarking on any challenge for title fights. “Let us be open and truthful to ourselves, if you are not fit and prepared for a fight, avoid it.”

Road race
LAST year’s bronze medallist in the tour de Malaysia, David Magezi, will lead a campaign against national champion Sebastian Kigongo in a 16 kilometre road race on Sunday. On the other hand Ibrahim Musitwa who set a record time of 45:22.11 in the event in 1998 will seek to break the same record.

Maroons’ bid
FORMER Super Division side Maroons FC started off their bid to return to the premier ranks by winning their first game in the Nakawa first division league. Maroons beat newly promoted Kireka Young 2-0, in a match played Tuesday at Kyambogo University Western play ground. Maroon’s goals where scored by Jeff Kasule and Tonny Nsereko.

Ivorians tour
FORMER Africa Cup of Nations champions, Ivory Coast will set up a training camp in Nairobi for their remaining Africa Cup of Nations matches from March 20, Kenyan officials disclosed on Wednesday. The Ivorians upset Cameroon's Indomitable Lions 3-0 in a friendly on Tuesday.
