THE Democratic Party (DP) has hailed local government minister Jaberi Bidandi Ssali over his stand against President Yoweri Museveni's 3rd term and restriction of political parties.
Bidandi, a historical member of the Movement has publicly called for the relaxing of restrictions on activities of political parties and recommended that the Movement becomes a political party to compete for power.
He has also openly opposed the advocates of a third term for Museveni, saying this would set a bad precedence of leadership in the country.
In a statement by the DP executive and public relations officer, Jude Mbabazi, the party on Wednesday, thanked Bidandi for boldly challenging the two issues fronted by Movementists.
“We know the great pressure under which you are because of your stance on these two important political issues. But the whole country and entire donor community is behind you therefore you should not succumb to those forces urging you to shut up,” the statement read. Ends
