Student died in thugs hunt

KAMPALA — A Makerere University student was killed in a night Police operation against thugs, a Police witness told court yesterday. Michael Masette told the High Court that George Babigumira was shot after a 10-minute chase by plain clothes Police hunting for pickpockets and mobile phone thieves in the city. Masette, a driver at the Central Police Station, told High Court Judge Moses Mukiibi that George Babigumira was first chased by a group of about 10 plain clothed men before he was shot in the scuffle.
