Drivers fined
KAMPALA – Two drivers were recently convicted for not having driving permits. Juma Kizito, 28 and George Asaba, 21, were convicted by the chief Magistrate, Margaret Mafabi, after they pleaded guilty of the charges. Kizito was fined sh100,000 or one month imprisonment.

Power project
KAMPALA – The Uganda Electricity Disribution Company Limited is working with various security organs to save the company from vandalisation of its property. The acting PRO, Edward Twine, recently said over 300 transformers had been destroyed in the last six months.

Guard shot
KAMPALA – Police is holding Moses Ginei, 25, a guard with Task Force Security Services, who allegedly shot at a special hire driver and injured him on Tuesday night while on duty at Kisementi. The officer-in-charge of CID at Kira Road Police, Marianna Otto, said Ginei was arrested by the patrol.
