The European Development Fund (EDF) micro- project has nullified 11 tenders awarded by Pallisa district.

This follows reports that the district did not comply with EDF conditions while awarding the tenders.

EDF micro-project programme (MPP) director Frits Raijmakers said there was non compliance in tendering out the construction of staff houses in the schools.

The conditions included adherence to the local government financial accounting regulations and timely implementation of the projects.

“MPP advises you to re-tender the project within one month. MPP will meet the cost of the adverts,” Raijmakers said.

He said some of the bids lacked dates and time of submission.

Raijmakers said the minutes of the bid opening showed that several firms did not indicate the projects applied for.

EDF is funding the construction of schools, health centres, shallow water wells and staff houses at a cost of sh743m.
