VILLA and Cranes’ midfield dynamo Hakim Magumba, who has been sidelined by a knee injury resumed training last week.
The midfield gem picked the injury during the 6-0 drubbing of Lyantonde in a league match on September 12.
The distressing injury saw him miss crucial matches including the just-concluded CECAFA club championship.
Villa officials were contemplating flying him to Germany for treatment but a scan in Nairobi Hospital proved it was not as grave as previously feared.
“ I went to have a scan in Nairobi Hospital. The scan revealed a tear in the knee but I was assured by doctors it would heal,” said Magumba.
r A three-goal cushion is not one to bother a team going into the second leg but SC Villa coach Micho Sredojevic is still cautious.
Villa travels to Burundi on Friday for the second leg of the African Champions League preliminary qualifying round.
Villa whipped Muzinga 4-1 in the first leg at Namboole.
“Our attention is on the Bujumbura trip and we shall go to defend and attack at the same time. It’s not yet over,” Micho said.
Villa’s form has improved since the start of the year. They won the CECAFA club championship and are leading the Nile Special Super League table.
Micho has the entire side that humbled Muzinga at his disposal. In form striker Alex Isabirye will lead the away goal hunt in Bujumbura.
