Did lady luck smile at you in your dream?

There I was, stark naked on Kampala road. You needed a stiff neck not to turn around for a second glance. Hawkers were not bothering me as they often do. Other pedestrians navigated their way clear off me.

On reaching Cairo Bank, I looked in the reflecting glasses. And there indeed I was in my Adam’s suit.

Suddenly I woke up, sweating profusely, wondering whether I boarded a taxi or jogged all the way back home in the nude. It was a dream!

Take heed, every dream has a message. It may be pointers to hope, personal concerns or fate. Regardless of age, social status or tribe the human race shares hopes, fears, concern and conflicts. You must have once dreamt of a monster grabbing you. Frightened you tried to run away but your legs would simply not move! All you did was to wake up screaming, “Help! I am being chased!”

Or you dreamt that you were falling from a high roof. It is so real that you wake up just seconds before you die.

But a survey brought me face to face with a variety of other interpretations ranging from those where animals feature, conflicts and other different situations.

They serve as a means of cleansing and release of what we held back during the day. Dreams become a safe outlet to let off negative suppressed emotions. Non- dreamers are often jittery and easily irritated people.

Some people have three to five dreams a night. Others go to seven. The only problem is most dreamers do not remember theirs.

Everybody dreams except that the time spent dreaming is between two to eight hours depending on one’s sleeping style.

Snakes: A snake is a symbol of evil. It signifies treachery, deceit or hidden instincts.

Such dreams may be a signal for you to take a new look at a given situation. It is a dreaded creature in the dream world. It symbolises misfortune, loss of honour, respect and lovers.

Cows: local superstition has it that if you dream feasting on beef, you are bound to lose a loved one. If you dream about a cow, it is a sign of obedience. It may be from family members, in the workplace or one’s subjects. It may also be a pointer to a woman’s fertility, often a forthcoming pregnancy. The mind is somehow triggering off the maternal instincts in the woman.

Be it a bull then one should expect wealth. It is a symbol of prosperity, abundant life and a strong will. If the bull is charging, then it is a pointer that your sexual, creative, fertility and other energies are being repressed and they need a push.

If it is a calf, walk to the bank all smiles; it is a sign of financial improvement. To see a bull also foretells a rich prosperous and abundant life.

If it is a herd, the message is that you lack individuality ad always go with the flow of things.

Fish: if there was a choice, everybody would pick on fish, a symbol of good luck in terms of personal wealth and more power to come with it.

If one is cooking it, this is plenty of hope in all the things one does. Dead fish on the other hand is an ill omen; it may be financial hazards or death of a loved one.

Frog: so long as it is swimming, it is all good luck. Your fortunes are on a smooth course. But should it leap, then it is a message that you should act. Change attitude from being uncommitted to taking instant action.

And on the other side it may be a message that you stop jumping to a variety of indulgences. They may be sexual, business or politics. If you are battling to catch the frog, then you need to take major steps towards your personal hygiene. And should it be croaking then failure is coming your way.

Dog: it serves as a reminder about ignored skills, which need reactivation. Depending on what one does, their age or sex it is faltering loyalty, fidelity and faithfulness. Should the dog be happily barking then good luck is storming your way. If it is ferocious then expect bad luck or watch the companions in your life. And should you be buying one, this denotes a solid foundation of wealth.

Apes: Indicate deception, mischievousness and falsehood. It could also be a pointer that your life is in the fast lane as in randy sex or spending and needs slowing down.

Goat: Signify cautious dealings, stability and steady increase in wealth. If the he-goat hits you then take a second glance at your enemies and rivals.
