LUBIRI SS and Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) were not the badminton force they usually were yesterday as the Taibah Open started at Lugogo.
The two schools are clearly missing Catherine Nakalemba (Lubiri) and Lucy Buhure (OLGC), who played a pivotal role last year. The pair are in senior six vacation and ineligible for the tournament.
Lubiri’s Norah Nassimbwa had to find another partner in Alice Nakyonyi, though it was not as effective, losing the day’s game against Mariam High.
Mariam High leads the group.
The tournament sponsored by Taibah Group of Companies at a tune of sh3.5m has attracted a record 500 primary and secondary school students.
