UGANDA wound up their build up their campaign for the Africa Nations cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali March 29 with a well earned 2-2 draw away to Harambee Stars on Saturday.
With 16 minutes to go, not even their ardent fans back home would have given them a chance of holding their bogey Kenyan opponents who had taken a commanding 2-0 lead with first half goals.
And with Hassan Mubiru out after being substituted by Yusuf Kinene on 72, it appeared a mission impossible for the high riding Cranes.
Abubaker Tabula pulled one goal back after 75 minutes following a perfect cross from Godfrey Ssali, brought on for Philip Ssozi.
Tabula failed to score from the spot for the leveller but Fred Okello nevertheless rescued Uganda six minutes from time.
Meanwhile, Uganda landed a tough draw in the U-19 regional soccer championships that kicks off in Zanzibar August 16,according to the draw released by CECAFA secretary Nicholas Musonye in Nairobi Sunday.
Uganda will face, Ethiopia, Zanzibar, Eritrea, Tanzania and Somalia.
