TVAFRICA have, in yet another endorsement of their entrenched sports policy, signed a deal that grants them rights to broadcast the 2003 Brazilian national football Championship.
According to a press release, the first free-to-air African television network, which won more popular appeal after becoming the official broadcaster of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in sub-Saharan Africa, will broadcast the matches starting April 7.
The South American league, which begins on March 30 and runs through to December 14, will be broadcast on TVAfrica East, TVAfrica South, TVAfrica West and TVAfrica Francophone.
TVAfrica’s Naome Agaba revealed that the matches would be broadcast on a delayed basis due to the time difference.
“On TVAfrica East, South and West two matches will be broadcast from 15h00 onwards. On TVAfrica Francophone, one match will be broadcast from 14h30. Included in the deal is a twice-weekly highlights programme to be broadcast on Wednesday and Thursdays at 1800,” Naome said.
Along with this deal, TVAfrica secured the rights to broadcast the four home friendly encounters for the Brazilian national team, the Samba Boys.
