NATIONAL coach Dick Katende spent the whole day yesterday sweating to cut his boxers weights.
All three boxers were overweight with Sadat Tebazalwa as much as 2kg above his 64kg light welter weight category.
Bantamweight boxer Attanus Mugerwa was 1.5kg overweight while light fly Jolly Katongole was 0.5kg above normal.
The team, in Ethiopia courtesy of Kenya Airways, went through vigorous exercises which involved roadwork and other gym workouts, that saw each of them cut off half a kilogramme.
Uganda battles Egypt (5 boxers)and Ethiopia (10 boxers) for Africa Zone 5 glory this weekend.
Finalists qualify for the Africa Seniors in May.
